What is Kundalini Yoga?

Kundalini Yoga is an opportunity to create a state of radiant
health, happiness and lasting change within ourselves and it
allows us to remember our true identity.
The word ‘yoga’ has its root in the Sanskrit language meaning ‘yoke’ or 'union', describing the way
to merge our individual consciousness with the universal, infinite creative consciousness.

‘Kundalini’ refers to the uncoiling of the inner awareness of our spiritual nature, our infinite
creative potential. The word ‘kundalini’ literally means "the curl of the lock of hair of the beloved"
which is a poetic description of the flow of energy and consciousness that already exists within all
of us.

Kundalini Yoga is an ancient technology which was brought to the West by
Yogi Bhajan, Master of
Hatha and Kundalini Yoga. It is more than just a system of physical exercises as it works primarily
by facilitating the flow of energy through the body, particularly along the spinal energy channels
and through the chakras to give us the experience of our Divinity.

Kundalini Yoga uses this emergent spiritual energy of the body through a complex system of dynamic
yoga postures (asanas) with meditative focus, energetic breathing techniques (pranayama), hand
positions (mudras), body locks (bhandas), chanting (mantra) and meditation.

THE BENEFITS OF KUNDALINI YOGA ARE MANY:

  • on the physical level it gives increased flexibility and muscle tone, balances and stimulates the
    glandular system, and strengthens the nervous system;

  • on the mental level it increases clarity, allows our true Self to emerge by clearing the
    subconscious mind, and builds strength and flexibility to face stress and change;

  • on the emotional level it balances the emotions, creates a sense of peace, well-being and bliss;

  • on the spiritual level it increases awareness and intuition and creates a strong link to our own
    Divinity.

Kundalini Yoga is a sacred science aimed at enhancing our relationship with our spirit, the part of us
that is eternal. Regular practice can elevate your consciousness, expand your awareness and
transform your life.

After each class students feel uplifted, energised and relaxed at the same time. They see and
feel the results of their efforts quickly.
Try it sometime...
